As we begin a new month...
And slowly get ready for back-to-school season....
It’s the perfect time to help our kids grow not just in knowledge, but in kindness.
Small acts can make a big impact, and when kids learn to spread kindness early on, it builds compassion, confidence, and community.
That’s why we created this August Kindness Challenge. These are 15 simple, meaningful ways for kids to practice kindness every day. You can print it, hang it on the fridge, or even turn it into a kindness bingo game!
Here’s the list; feel free to do them in any order:
15-Day Kindness Challenge
- Say something kind to a friend or sibling.
- Leave a thank-you note for your mail carrier or delivery driver.
- Donate a toy you no longer use.
- Give a compliment to 3 people today.
- Help a parent with chores (without being asked).
- Write a note or draw a picture for a grandparent or relative.
- Pick up litter at the park or outside your home.
- Make a handmade card for your teacher or principal.
- Share your snack with someone (with permission, of course!).
- Hold the door open for someone.
- Smile and say hello to someone new.
- Make a “kindness rock” and leave it somewhere to be found.
- Read a book to a younger sibling or pet.
- Say “thank you” every chance you get today.
- Call or video chat with a family member just to say “I love you.”
Tips for Parents
- Let your child check off each act as they complete it.
- Talk about how each act made them feel and how they think it made someone else feel.
- Take pictures and start a “Kindness Scrapbook” to remember their efforts!
